Hypotheticals Part II
Free Range Gallery
Perth, WA

05.06.2013 - 28.07.2013

Curated by Emma Buswell and Oliver Hull

Hypotheticals Part II was a survey exhibition attempting to account for a methodology of art making that privileges the possibilities of artworks as hypothetical constructs. The exhibition laterally related practices and artworks from a diverse group of international and Australian contemporary artists. Engaging the hypothetical as a method to promote a speculation on what it means for artists to actively investigate the potential of “unrecognised, unfinished, or unfulfilled ideas,” Free Range Gallery became the site for a series of artworks that interrogated the speculative nature of the 'future event,' it's planning, impossibility, impracticality and the possibility of it being a 'non-event.'
